Rich Is The Poor Pt.3
Kelvin and Elizabeth are in need of an angle. A blessing would be better. Their daughter Zoe is in need of a heart transplant and has less than forty-eight hours to live. Between expensive hospital bills and lengthy work hours the relationship that Kelvin and Elizabeth once had is now in shambles. But, the minute they see their child laying on the hospital bed, fighting for her life, all of the arguing and petty competing goes out the window. Zoe had become a symbol similar to Jesus during the crucifixion or Saint Mary.
One Sunday afternoon things were going well, but would soon go haywire. It all started when an argument between Kelvin and Elizabeth occurred. This going back and fourth went from the room in the hospital to the left end of the hallway. All of this yelling, swearing, and commotion was over who's turn it was to pay for gas this time around. By the way they were carrying on even the hospital's staff had to intervene.
Nate (Nathaniel) and Kat (Kathy) Phoenix are at the front desk having a conversation when all of a sudden some commotion starts to erupt. Assistant nurses and other employees rush from the desk to where the attention is. Not long thereafter the commotion will clear up a bit and both Nate and Kat will try to intervene. Squeezing their way between the staff Nate and Kat get a chance to pull the couple apart.
In 2009 Phoenix Rentals was formed. As newly weds Nathaniel and Kathy Phoenix faced trails and tribulations (regarding their business). By the year 2011 Phoenix Rentals was responsible for the renovation of apartment buildings from Harlem to Brooklyn. Some may call this gentrification. The Phoenix duo calls it community "makeovers."
Grabbing Kelvin's arm Nate pulls him to a corner and takes the place of the father he never had. Dialoguing takes place and some things are revealed about the two men. Although they disagreed on minor topics, the only thing that was important at this time was Zoe's existence. Ending their conversation tears came out of Kelvin's eyes while he ran into Nate's arm's for a hug.
Putting her arm around Elizabeth Kat Shelters her and try's to have a heart-to-heart. Hearing her side to the story Kat plays the mother figure that Elizabeth never had. Right in the middle of Elizabeth yelling Kat cuts in and says "sweetie this isn't worth it." This meant whatever is going on between you and your husband can be worked out. Not just for you, but for future's sake. Ending their conversation both Kat and Elizabeth hold hands as they walk back to the room to see Zoe.
On March 10, 2016 Nate and Kat were coming home from a business trip with their daughter Natalie (named after her father). Things were going smooth on the highway until a speeding car passed on the left lane. Nate hits the breaks quickly causing the car to stop instantly. Suddenly, a car crashes itself from the back followed by two more. Minor injuries is what Nate and Kat had to deal with. Natalie on the other hand suffered a concussion. At 12:30pm on March 15, 2016 Natalie Skylar Phoenix died while on life support. She was only six years old. Out of respect for the betterment of research and humanity both parents decided to take their daughter's body and give it to science. Important organs such as the brain, liver, kidney, and heart were kept in an organ bank. Only relatives and kin have the right to a person's organs.
Back in the hospital room the two couples circle around Zoe in unison. With only twenty-one hours left one mission became clear, and that was saving a life. Race or class didn't matter. Eventually, the doctor comes in to ask Kelvin and Elizabeth what would be the best choice for their child. Stepping towards the doctor Nate calmly says "this child will live to see tomorrow and many days to come." Ten hours later a transplant operation was successfully done. This rest is written in stone.
Today Kelvin, Elizabeth, and their daughter Zoe live happily in a brownstone in Harlem. Zoe would be starting school in an atmosphere that is catholic based. Phoenix Rentals has since gone national thanks to a vision that came in the form of a wake up call. Judging off the morals and values of those from the past history looks at humanity with the slightest grain of hope.
